Important Travel Advice

Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. 

The best train stations for connections to Rosehill Gardens are Parramatta and Westmead where you can connect with light rail services to the racecourse.  

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run regularly via Parramatta and stop at Rosehill Gardens, across from the racecourse. Alight at the Rosehill Gardens and continue on foot via Grand Avenue and the underpass to the racecourse. See the Rosehill Gardens transport map (pdf 727KB) to find your way. 

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, travel with your group and arrive early. There’s parking on-site at the racecourse or consider using rideshare and taxis instead. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Event ticket travel entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to the Caravan Camping Holiday Supershow at Rosehill Gardens include travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket or members card to transport staff when boarding: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries 

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.  

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements. 

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the Caravan Camping Holiday Supershow at Rosehill Gardens include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.

Tuesday 28 & Wednesday 29 April

  • Nightly from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only.
  • Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham.
  • For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.

Sunday 3 - Wednesday 6 May

  • Nightly from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only.
  • Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham.
  • For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
  • The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 21:44, Martin Place at 21:53, arriving Tallawong at 22:42.
  • The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 21:00, Martin Place at 21:48, arriving Sydenham at 21:58.

Planned trackwork is taking place on Tuesday 28 April to Sunday 3 May on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

Tuesday 28 April

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur, Glenfield and the City via Granville. Buses also replace T8 Airport & South Line trains between Glenfield and Sydenham.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 9.40pm to 4.20am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction. Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Richmond.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: From 9.30pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Glenfield and Sydenham. Trains run to a changed timetable between: Macarthur and the City via Granville, Sydenham and the City and Turrella and the City via the Airport.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 8.30pm to 2.30am, buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Wyong. Trains run between Wyong and Central, to a changed timetable.

Wednesday 29 & Thursday 30 April

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: On Wednesday from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
  • T1 Western Line: from 9.20pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at some stations between Seven Hills and Granville.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and the City, and between Glenfield and the City via the Airport.  Inner West trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park or Homebush and the City.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: from 9.40pm to 4.20am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction. From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Sydenham and Central. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and Richmond.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: from 9.10pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. 

Friday 1 May

  • T1 Western Line: From 10pm, Penrith trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at Flemington and Burwood
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 10pm, trains run between Leppington and Olympic Park only. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards the City. T1 Western or T9 Northern Line trains make extra stops at Flemington, Burwood and Ashfield, to a changed timetable. T3 Inner West Line trains run between Liverpool and the City Circle via Regents Park, to a changed timetable
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 10pm, trains run between Liverpool and the City Circle, to a changed timetable.
  • T9 Northern Line: From 10pm, trains run to a changed timetable and make an extra stop at Ashfield.
  • Blue Mountains Line: From 10pm, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Strathfield only. Change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 10pm, most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
  • South Coast Line: From 10pm, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Bondi Junction, to a changed timetable. The 21:55 Kiama to Central train will end at Hurstville. Change trains at Hurstville to continue your journey.
  • Southern Highlands Line: From 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains from Moss Vale to Campbelltown From 9.50pm to 2am, buses replace trains from Campbelltown to Moss Vale.  

Saturday 2 & Sunday 3 May

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: On Sunday from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 21:44, Martin Place at 21:53, arriving Tallawong at 22:42. The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 21:00, Martin Place at 21:48, arriving Sydenham at 21:58.
  • T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Richmond and Fairfield – change at Parramatta for trains towards the City, and Penrith and the City, making extra stops at Flemington and Burwood.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Leppington and the City via the Airport, Fairfield and Richmond – change at Parramatta for trains towards the City via Granville and Homebush or Ashfield and the City.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable and frequency. Inner West trains run between Homebush or Ashfield and the City. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: On Saturday from 3am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Glenfield, and between Fairfield and Schofields or Richmond.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change at: Lidcombe for T1 trains towards City or Parramatta, Regents Park for T3 buses towards Liverpool or Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington or Revesby and the City via the Airport. T8 trains continue to run between Sydenham and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Use T1 Western Line trains between Blacktown and the City. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountain Line stations run 30 minutes later than the normal timetable.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
  • South Coast Line: On Saturday from 3am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction. On Sunday from 2.30am to 12pm, buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Port Kembla and Wollongong. Trains run between Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. The 02:39 Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 20 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.
  • Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Glenfield. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Glenfield and the City via the Airport, to a changed timetable.

From Parramatta Interchange, route 920 services run towards Rosehill making stops near the racecourse. Services run every 20 minutes on weekends. Route 920:

  • Services leave from Parramatta Station Interchange, Stand A2, and drop off on James Ruse Drive opposite Prospect Street.
  • Services leave from James Ruse Drive at Prospect Street and drop off at Parramatta Interchange.

The closest wharf to the Rosehill Racecourse is Parramatta Wharf.

From the wharf, walk to the Robin Thomas light rail stop via the riverside and Argus Lane to connect with services to Rosehill Gardens stop to get within short walking distance of the racecourse.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Parramatta, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

Please note, F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

The closest light rail stop to the racecourse is Rosehill Gardens. Alight at Rosehill Gardens and continue on foot via Grand Ave and the underpass to the racecourse. See the Rosehill Gardens transport map (pdf 727KB) to find your way.

Attendees are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings. 

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip.

From Central, change for trains to Parramatta to connect with light rail to Rosehill Gardens.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner

From Central, change for trains to Parramatta to connect with light rail to Rosehill Gardens.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the racecourse as attendees travel to and from the event. Allow extra travel time on roads including James Ruse Drive and Hassall Street.   

Drivers are reminded that light rail services are running between Westmead, Parramatta and Carlingford. Trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so exercise extra caution when driving in the area.

Drop-off: taxis enter Rosehill Gardens Racecourse through the Grand Avenue gates but are not permitted to stop on James Ruse Drive or Grand Avenue.

Pick-up: taxis are located on Oak Street over the Equine Bridge located at the Might and Power entry.

Racecourse Parking

Free unreserved members parking is available in:

  • P4 and P5 car parks located on James Ruse Drive and Prospect Street.
  • P6 Infield car park via Gate 2 on Unwin Street.

Reserved Members Car Parking is available for those with annual car park passes.
