Additional afternoon school bus service for Lithgow and Hartley students
From Monday 20 July, an additional temporary school bus will improve afternoon school bus journeys for the majority of students travelling between the upper Blue Mountains and Lithgow and Hartley. There are no changes to morning services.
The school bus will service schools affected by the closure of the Great Western Highway at Victoria Pass.
Key changes:
- Improved afternoon travel times for some students travelling to Lithgow and Hartley from Mount Victoria Public School and Blackheath Public School.
- A new afternoon service for Katoomba High School students travelling to Lithgow and Hartley.
- The introduction of a new temporary route, S381 Dragon Bus, operating from the Lithgow Small Arms Museum throughout the Lithgow town area.
- A transfer arrangement at the Lithgow Small Arms Museum for some students living on the northern side of the rail line in Lithgow. Services have been timed to allow direct connections between buses.
- To ensure the best possible network within available resources and varying school bell times, some students attending Mountains Christian College and Blue Mountains Grammar School may arrive home slightly later than under current arrangements.
Routes with changes:
- S368 – Rosella Bus (afternoon service only)
- S371 – Kookaburra Bus (afternoon service only)
- S381 – Dragon bus (new route)
