Important travel advice
Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.
Trains run regularly to North Wollongong and Wollongong on the South Coast Line, both are within walking distance or the ‘free Gong shuttle’ (routes 55A and 55C) will be running throughout the day.
If you have to drive travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual around the area. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com
Additional measures and staff will be in place around transport hubs to safely manage crowds arriving and leaving the event so please be patient, and follow the directions of staff on-site.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport services including metro, trains, buses ferries and light rail, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
The closest stations are North Wollongong and Wollongong on the South Coast Line. The event is approximately a 20-30 minute walk from each station, or you can catch the ‘free Gong shuttle’ (routes 55A and 55C).
Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. Check trackwork and travel alerts or plan your trip using the Trip Planner for the latest information.
The free "Gong Shuttle" bus (routes 55A and 55C) runs in a loop around Wollongong making stops at North Wollongong Station, Fairy Meadow Station, Gywneville and Wollongong University and Innovation Campus.
The shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes from 9am to 6.20pm on Saturday and 9.40am to 6.20pm on Sunday.
Changes to Bus route 887
- Campbelltown to Wollongong will be detoured right from Cliff Rd along Harbour Street before joining Crown Street, this service will not stop on Marine Drive.
- Wollongong to Campbelltown will be detoured left from Crown Street along Harbour Street before joining Cliff Road, this service will not stop on Marine Drive.

Event shuttle
Yours and Owls Festival will be operating two shuttle services throughout the weekend.
- Campground to event & return shuttle will pick up at the Wollongong Surf Leisure Resort campground
- Saturday 2pm to 5pm and 8pm to 12am
- Sunday 2pm to 5pm and 7pm to 11pm
- Wollongong CBD shuttle will provide a Wollongong CBD and return service between 9pm and 11pm
Road closures and changed traffic conditions will be in place as up to 15,000 people are expected to attend the Festival.
The following roads will be closed from 7am-12am Saturday and 7am to 11pm Sunday:
- Cliff Road
- Marine Drive
- Endevour Drive

There is limited parking available at the event, there is additional paid and free car parking around the Wollongong CBD. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual around the area.
There will be dedicated areas for accessible parking and pickup/drop off, accessible Parking will be available in the restaurant parking area.

Accessible trips are shown in the Trip Planner with the wheelchair icon. You can select "accessible services only" in the Options to ensure you only see accessible services. Only trip plans with accessible train platforms, ferry wharves and buses will be presented. See accessible travel or download a transport app (select the "Accessibility" filter).
There will be dedicated areas for accessible parking and pickup/drop off. You will require a valid NSW accessible car pass to use these facilities. If you require any assistance or you don’t have a NSW accessible car pass you can email the event organisers.
