Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Epping or Central to connect with a Central Coast & Newcastle Line train to Broadmeadow. 

Please note that there is trackwork on the M1 Metro line that may impact your trip  

• M1 Metro Line: From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 9:44pm, Martin Place at 9:53pm, arriving Tallawong at 10:42pm. The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 9pm, Martin Place at 9:49pm, arriving Sydenham at 9:58pm.

The closest station to McDonald Jones Stadium is Broadmeadow on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. From the station, the stadium is approximately a 15 to 20-minute walk away (1.5km). 

• Leaving Broadmeadow at 10.00pm, stopping all stations to Berowra, then Hornsby, Epping, Strathfield and Central Terminal.
• Leaving Newcastle Interchange at 9.45pm, stopping all stations to Telarah.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Monday 7 April on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner. 

• M1 Metro Line: From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 9:44pm, Martin Place at 9:53pm, arriving Tallawong at 10:42pm. The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 9pm, Martin Place at 9:49pm, arriving Sydenham at 9:58pm. 
• T1 Western Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops between Flemington and Ashfield. 
• T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 10pm to 1.30am, most trains run between Leppington and Olympic Park only. Most Inner West trains will not run. T1 Western and T9 Northern line trains make extra stops at some stations between Flemington and Redfern. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. 
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 10pm to 1.30am, trains run between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Most Inner West trains will not run. T1 Western and T9 Northern line trains make extra stops at some stations between Flemington and Macdonaldtown. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. 
• T9 Northern Line: From 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at all stations between Ashfield and Redfern. 
• Blue Mountains Line: From 9.50pm to 3am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 9.50pm to 3am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.

The closest bus stops to McDonald Jones Stadium are on Turton Road and Lambton Road. Regular routes 13, 23, 25, 26 and 27 run towards the stadium. Check Newcastle Transport for more bus network information.

Ferries run between Stockton and Queens Wharf approximately every 20 minutes.

At Queens Wharf, change for a light rail service to Newcastle Interchange then connect with trains to Broadmeadow. Alternatively, from King Street near Perkins Street, you can catch a route 13 bus to Lambton Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.

Newcastle Light Rail services run from 5am to 1am daily between Newcastle Interchange in Wickham and Pacific Park in Newcastle East. With six convenient stops, it’s easy to get around Newcastle’s city centre and connect with train, bus and ferry services.

Catch a light rail service to Newcastle Interchange and change for a train to Broadmeadow where the stadium is within short walking distance.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to the match in the busy evening peak. Carpool with your group and allow extra travel time on roads including Turton Road and Griffiths Road.  

For passenger drop-offs, use the allocated 10-minute loading zone in the McDonald Jones Stadium car park. Entry is via the driveway off Turton Road.

The nearest taxi rank to the stadium is located on Young Road, Broadmeadow. Taxis can be accessed after the event by following the signs to Young Road.

Pre-paid parking on game days and major events is available only for vehicles with a pre-paid parking ticket. Pre-paid parking tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster online, by phone or by visiting Ticketmaster box office at McDonald Jones Stadium. Visit Ticketmaster – McDonald Jones Stadium.

Drop-off zone: use the allocated 10-minute loading zone in the McDonald Jones Stadium car park. Entry is via the driveway off Turton Road.
