Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

• Sunday 14 September: From 9.50pm, Metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or for T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

Change at Sydenham or Central for metro services to Martin Place; change at Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff; or change at Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. • Blue Mountains Line: On Friday, buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria. Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable. Bathurst trains run to a changed timetable between Bathurst and Lithgow or Central. On Friday from 8.50pm, buses replace trains from Lithgow to Blacktown and from 10.40pm, buses replace trains from Blacktown to Lithgow. T1 Western Line trains run between the City and St Marys, to a changed timetable. Change at Blacktown for buses to Blue Mountains Line stations.  
• South Coast Line: On Thursday from 9.50pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Trains may leave from different platforms, please check indicator screens before boarding. On Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, trains do not stop at Wolli Creek but make an extra stop at Arncliffe. Buses run between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe. Change at Arncliffe or Sydenham for a bus to Wolli Creek or change at Central for a T8 Airport train if you have luggage or accessibility needs.
• T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Blacktown and Parramatta. Trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Blacktown, and between Parramatta or Leppington and the City via Granville. You may need to change services to continue your journey.
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: On Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run between Bankstown and Lidcombe to a changed frequency, every 30 minutes.
• T8 Airport & South Line: Sunday from 1pm to 4pm, trackwork at Wolli Creek may affect how you travel to T4 or South Coast Line stations. T4 trains will not stop at Wolli Creek. Buses run between Sydenham, Wolli Creek and Arncliffe. Change at Central if you have luggage or accessibility needs
• T9 Northern Line: Metro trackwork may affect how you travel. 
• Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Bathurst and Parramatta. T1 Western Line trains run between Parramatta and the City, to a changed timetable. If you are travelling to Lithgow to connect with NSW TrainLink Regional Coaches, please call 132 232 to confirm departure times. 
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: On Saturday from 7am to 10.30am, trains towards Hornsby will not stop at Cowan. Buses run from Hawkesbury River to Cowan, and from Cowan to Berowra, in that direction only. Change at Hawkesbury River for a bus to Cowan. From Cowan, catch a bus to Berowra then change for a train to continue your journey. Trains towards Gosford continue to stop at Cowan. On Sunday from 6.40am to 11am, at Cowan, all trains leave from platform 1. Metro trackwork may affect how you travel
• South Coast Line: Daily from 6.30am to 12.15pm, some trains make extra stops between Sutherland and Hurstville. • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: On Thursday from 9.40pm to 1.30am, Inner West trains do not run. T1 or T9 trains make extra stops between Parramatta and Central, to a changed timetable. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park via Granville. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards Central. You will need to change trains if travelling to Museum, St James or Circular Quay.
• T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: On Thursday night from 9.40pm to 1.30am, Inner West trains will not run. T1 or T9 trains make extra stops between Lidcombe and Central, to a changed timetable and frequency. Trains run between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. You will need to change trains if travelling to Museum, St James or Circular Quay.
• T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: On Thursday from 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
• T9 Northern Line: On Thursday from 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and stop at all stations between Ashfield and Macdonaldtown.
• Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria. Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable. Bathurst trains run to a changed timetable between Bathurst and Lithgow or Central.
• Central Coast & Newcastle Line: On Thursday from 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 
• Hunter Line: Buses replace the following trains between Muswellbrook and Maitland: 8:14am Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook and the 10:09am Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange. Trains run to the normal timetable between Maitland and Newcastle Interchange.
• South Coast Line: On Thursday from 9.20am to 2.15pm, buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong. Buses towards Wollongong may leave stations up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.
• Southern Highlands Line: On Friday from 8pm to 2am, buses replace trains from Moss Vale to Campbelltown. From 9.50pm to 2am, buses replace trains from Campbelltown to Moss Vale.

Weekend 2 – Saturday 13 September to Sunday 14 September

• M1 Metro Line: On Sunday from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
• T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur and East Hills. Trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, and make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
• T9 Northern Line: On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central. Trains run between Hornsby and Strathfield, some to a changed timetable.
• Blue Mountains Line: Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey. On Sunday from 1.20am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central.
• South Coast Line: On Saturday from 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction. On Sunday from 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. The 2:39am Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 14 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.
• Southern Highlands Line: On Saturday and Sunday, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and East Hills. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City.

The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:

• Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Strathfield via Sydney Olympic Park.
• Route 526 runs from the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to Olympic Park.
• Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

Buses may be affected by local road closures in the precinct, allow extra travel time and check signs at stops.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.

Significant traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct for Thursday and Friday performances as attendees travel in the busy evening peak, and across both weekends while multiple other events take place at nearby venues. Ticketholders should consider public transport options available to avoid lengthy delays and the high demand for parking.  

If you have to drive, travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road.  

Pre-book your parking ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the show unless sold out prior.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road. If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.

Traffic will be very heavy after each show as attendees leave at the same time, while others also arriving into the precinct for other nearby events. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks.

Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing the trip to Olympic Park by train as frequent additional services will run. You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

• Parking is in high demand, it is essential that you pre-book your parking online to guarantee a car space
• Carpool with your group and allow extra travel time. Significant delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct for Thursday and Friday performances as attendees travel in the busy evening peak, and across both weekends while multiple other events take place at nearby venues
• If you have pre-booked parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. If you haven't pre-booked you'll need to catch transport as there will be no onsite parking available.

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching a train to Olympic Park. 

• T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith. 
• T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West. 
• T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah. 
• T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
